Double-click Network.

tab. If Remote Access Service isn't listed, click Add..., otherwise,
click Ok and skip ahead to the instructions on creating a Phonebook
Entry.

as the device; if it doesn't, click the down-arrow and select
your modem from the list. Click Ok. |

button to tell RAS which protocols to use. |

next to TCP/IP, and remove the check-marks from the other two
protocols, unless you are faculty/staff and wish to connect to
Novell over dial-up (in which case, all three protocols are needed).
Click all the Ok buttons you need to;
RAS is now setup. |

2. Creating a Phonebook Entry for the University of Windsor. |

2(a) Double-click on My Computer, then double-click on
Dial-Up Networking. |
|
|
| |

2(b). If you
have no phonebook entries already, this window appears; click
Ok. If the phonebook appears, click New...
|
|
|
| |

2(c). Give this phonebook
entry a name (e.g., U of W), then put a check-mark in the check-box
on this screen and click Finish
|

2(d).
On the Basic Tab, put in the phone number (252-8484 for students,
971-3679 for faculty/staff). Click on the Server tab next.

2(e). Click on the TCP/IP
Settings... button.
|
|
|

|
2(f). Specify the name server
addresses as 206.156.230.1 for Primary and 206.156.230.2 for
Secondary, then click OK.
|

2(g). Click
on the Script tab next, and select Pop up a terminal window.
Then go to the Security tab.
|
|
|
2.8 Select Accept any authentication including clear text.
Click Ok ;
you've successfully setup the phonebook entry.

From the
Phonebook entry to dial select Tranquility
Then
click the Dial button
|
|
|

|
A window
will appear asking for a username, password
Enter your Dialup Username and Password
Do
not enter anything for the Domain
Check
Save Password then click OK
to connect.
